Henry Yardley Wins CTR Cross Country Championship Round 3

Henry Yardley Wins CTR Cross Country Championship Round 3 At the Fantastic Fan Farm in Myddfai.

Henry Yardley and Co come down to CTR and pushed hard all the way to win the 2 and a half hour Enduro Cross Country race laid on by team CTR Events, The course consisted of 6.5 miles of Fields, Quarry with Hard Easy loop sections, Wooded trails, Farm Tracks with flowing Ski Jumps, Hill Descents, Hill Climbs with some wide open blast, A few small boggy bits, Technical Chambers, A little ride around the farm yard before negotiating their way back to the end of the lap.

At the start the atmosphere was buzzing CTR set the Experts and Expert Vets away with Paddy Twentyman grabbing the Expert holeshot closely followed by Derek Bawn and George Yardley as the others piled up behind, Grant Churchward got the Vet Expert holeshot from Caerwyn ralph and Ryan Mitchel, Next set free the Clubman with Jammo Jones getting the holeshot from Graham Owens and Gavin Jones and Co, Next away was the Vet Clubman and Over 50’s with Phil George grabbing the Over’s holeshot and Keith Hebron got the Vet Clubman holeshot, Last but not least set free the Novice-Sportsman class with Jordan Protheroe getting the holeshot from Kynan Jones and Chris Williams with the rest of the hounds chasing him.

At lap scoring all eyes were focused on the woods waiting to see who would appear 1st and with a mixed sound of 2 strokes and 4 strokes buzzing into sight it was Vet Expert Grant Churchward in the lead with Derek Bawn, Matthew Jones, Henry Yardley and Alfie Webb with Vet Expert Paul Biggs, next class leader around was Clubman rider Jammo Jones with Jac George and Ryan Nightingale right on his tail, Next class leader around was Over 50 class rider Mark Saunders with Phil George and Adrian Evans chasing him hard, Toby Bevan led the Vet Clubman around with Keith Hebron and Wyn Evans, Chris Williams led the Novice-Sportsman around from Ieuan Price, Jack Marsh, Jason Kendal and Co snapping at his tail.

Mid way the lead swapped and changed between Derek Bawn and Henry Yardley with a few decades between them Alfie Webb pushed into 3rd Matthew Jones had bike problems, Grant Churchward was leading the Vet Experts with Paul Biggs in 2nd and Jack Twentyman in 3rd, Jammo Jones was leading the Clubman Graham Owens moved upto 2nd with Jac George in 3rd, Phil George and Mark Saunders was having a great battle with Phil now leading and Adrian Evans moved into 2nd with Mark Saunders now in 3rd in the Over 50’s class, Keith Hebron was leading the Vet Clubman with Tobu Bevan in 2nd and Lee Ponting now 3rd, in the Novice-Sportsman class Chris Williams was on it in a good lead from Jason Kendal 2nd and Jack Marsh 3rd.

At the chequered flag Henry Yardley took the win from Derek Bawn with Grant Churchward 3rd  overall and taking the Vet Expert class win from Paul Biggs and Jack Twentyman with Alfie Webb 3rd in the Experts, Jammo Jones won the Clubman from Graham Owens and Jac George, Phil George won the Over 50 class from Adrian Evans and Mark Saunders, Keith Hebron won the Vet Clubman from Toby Bevan and Lee Ponting, Chris Williams won the Novice-Sportsman class from Jason Kendal and Jack Marsh, It was a tough physical day on this fast flowing track on the hottest day of the year but everyone loved the track and had a great days racing, Thanks to all involved see you all at the next round on the weekend of 19th and 20th May at Fan Farm similar track but the other way around thanks again CTR Events.
